Overview
The End User Services Internship is an opportunity to learn and develop your Information Technology skills by working with experienced IT professionals to support enterprise hardware, software, and end-user technologies in a global environment.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Provide first-level support to end users for computer hardware, software, and basic application issues on Windows operating systems (Windows 10, 11)
- Assist with installation, configuration, and basic support of Microsoft Office (Office 365)
- Support unified communications tools (e.g., messaging, collaboration, and conferencing platforms) under guidance
- Assist with imaging, setup, and deployment of laptops and desktops using standard tools and procedures
- Help troubleshoot basic PC hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Support printer-related issues, including coordination with vendors and toner inventory tracking
- Provide basic support for AV and video conferencing equipment in conference rooms
- Assist with remote user support via phone, email, or chat
- Log, track, and update support tickets and outages; escalate issues when appropriate
- Assist team members during system outages or service disruptions by following documented procedures
- Coordinate with Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams as needed
- Support IT projects, including occasional after-hours or weekend work when required
- Assist with procurement, inventory tracking, and asset management of IT equipment
- Participate in rotational on-call support as appropriate for an intern role and training level
Competencies
- Basic exposure to Unix/Linux environments
- Basic understanding of networking concepts
- Familiarity with macOS
- Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., CheckMK, Nagios, Splunk) is a plus
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Self-motivated and aptitude to learn quickly
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalism
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong customer service mindset and willingness to learn
- Good verbal and written communication skills (email, chat, phone)
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to follow procedures and document work clearly
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, global environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week
- Must be legally authorized to work in Taiwan without restriction
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal history
- Must be 18 years of age or older
