Intern, Design & Research (Corporate Infrastructure Office)

Role Summary:

The Design and Research Assistant support Corporate Infrastructure Office's (CIFO) Digital Twin & Design Analytics pilot by contributing to spatial digital twin modelling, workflow simulation, and AI analytics for healthcare infrastructure projects. The role offers exposure to healthcare facility design, clinical and operational workflows, and emerging digital technologies within NUHS. The candidate will also gain hands-on experience with industry software used for simulation and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the CIFO RO in day-to-day coordination of the Digital Twin for NUHS projects, including tracking project milestones, actions, and follow-ups.
• Assist in the collection, organisation, and quality-checking of clinical and operational data from user departments (e.g., patient volumes, staff headcount, room inventories, workflow mapping) using the standardised Data Collection Workbook.
• Help prepare and maintain project documentation - briefing decks, user guides, journey mapping materials, and meeting minutes - for stakeholder engagement sessions with clinical leads, Development Secretariat, and simulation partners.
• Support tracking and monitoring of CIFO-led initiatives on digital simulation platforms, including maintaining project trackers and status dashboards.
• Assist in coordinating engagement with academic and research partners supporting the simulation and AI analytics workstream, including scheduling, note-taking, and follow-up tracking.
• Support basic data analysis and reporting - summarising simulation outputs (e.g., heat maps, queue/waiting-time data, room utilisation) into clear, presentable formats for non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist with the organisation and version control of project files, drawings, and datasets on SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
• Provide general administrative and project-based support to the CIFO team as needed, including scheduling, logistics for workshops/site visits, and ad-hoc research tasks.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Design, Building/Real Estate, Data Science, Healthcare Facilities Management, or a related field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint familiarity with SharePoint preferred.
• Familiarity with basic digital or AI-enabled tools for productivity, analysis, or reporting (e.g., Power BI, ChatGPT/Claude, low-code tools) is a plus.
• Exposure to BIM, AutoCAD, or simulation software (e.g., LEGION, Massmotion, AnyLogic, Revit) is advantageous but not required - training will be provided.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Willingness to support both administrative and project-based tasks with a proactive, hands-on attitude.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative working style suited to engaging clinical and technical stakeholders.
