【Capsule】
You are the quality gatekeeper who makes sure every product we ship is something we are proud of. At BCT, our Hardware QA Engineer plays a critical role in validating EPD devices and Android-based systems — from the silicon layer to the full software stack — working closely with cross-functional teams across Taipei, the U.S., and India.
This role is not just about finding bugs. You build the frameworks that catch them faster, smarter, and earlier in the development cycle. If you believe great quality is engineered, not merely inspected, this role was built for you.
【Typical Accountability】
- Drive end-to-end functional, integration, and regression testing for EPD devices and Android-based systems across the full product lifecycle.
- Validate system behavior across application, platform, and hardware layers to ensure product stability and consistent performance.
- Conduct power consumption, thermal, and performance testing on complete devices and provide structured findings to engineering and PM teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts that accelerate system validation and reduce regression cycle time.
- Build and continuously evolve test frameworks and internal QA tooling to drive improvements in testing efficiency and coverage.
- Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA or equivalent tools, delivering clear reproduction steps and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and ODM teams in Taipei, the U.S., and India to reproduce, analyze, and resolve product issues.
- Deliver detailed test reports, system logs, and quality metrics that support data-driven release decisions across stakeholders.
【Essential Competencies】
- 3–5 years of experience in hardware QA, system validation, or consumer electronics testing environments.
- Strong understanding of Android system architecture and device-level testing methodologies.
- Solid foundation in QA methodologies, test case design, and test automation principles and practices.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: Python, Shell, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Android testing tools such as ADB, MonkeyRunner, JUnit, or equivalent frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience measuring and analyzing power consumption, thermal performance, or system stability metrics.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills for effective cross-functional and cross-border collaboration.
【Desirable Competencies】
- Experience testing EPD / E-Ink display devices or similar embedded and low-power systems.
- Familiarity with log analysis tools and techniques including logcat, kernel logs, and related diagnostics.
- Experience integrating automated test frameworks into CI/CD pipelines for device-level testing.
- Knowledge of hardware validation instruments such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, or thermal imaging equipment.
- Experience working with ODM or manufacturing QA teams in a collaborative hardware development environment.
- Familiarity with Android instrumentation testing and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) validation.
- Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical instincts and a passion for solving hard problems.
- Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, multicultural, and internationally distributed team.
