The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking experienced EBEAM Hardware Product Engineers to support NPI and production EBEAM tools. This role focuses on L3/L4 technical escalation, hardware troubleshooting, and image quality optimization, working closely with local service teams and worldwide PSO/division stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical/structural engineering fundamentals, deep EBEAM system knowledge, and extensive experience in semiconductor equipment hardware troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
1. L3/L4 Technical Escalation Support
- Provide L3A+ escalation support for NPI EBEAM products
- Act as the technical owner for Stage and Column-related issues
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex hardware problems
2. EBEAM Hardware & System Expertise
- Support the following EBEAM platforms and modules:
- Common platform / Vacuum / Stage
- Multi-beam systems
- Single-beam columns
- Handle column escalation cases, especially:
- Image quality troubleshooting
- Stability and performance optimization
- Development and refinement of robust troubleshooting procedures
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Co-work with Local Service Engineers on single-beam projects
- Collaborate closely with Service teams using SAGE for system analysis and issue resolution
4. Global & Regional Technical Engagement
- Participate in:
- Worldwide PSO meetings
- NPI meetings
- Global escalation meetings
- Division PSO / PLC technical reviews
- Serve as a key interface between local teams and global stakeholders
5. Escalation Case Leadership
- Organize and lead L3/L4 escalation meetings
- Coordinate all relevant stakeholders, including:
- Service teams
- Case owners
- PSO and Division engineering teams
- Ensure timely alignment, execution, and closure of critical issues
Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Design / Structural Engineering
- Or related engineering disciplines
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with one or more of the following:
- Solid understanding of EBEAM principles and system architecture
- Semiconductor equipment experience with EBEAM hardware troubleshooting
- Proven ability to independently handle high-complexity escalation cases
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting NPI or ramp-up programs
- Hands-on experience with:
- Multi-beam and single-beam EBEAM systems
- Column tuning and image quality optimization
- Familiarity with charging, stability, or advanced metrology challenges
- Strong cross-functional and cross-regional communication skills

- Strong analytical and systematic troubleshooting capability
- Deep understanding of mechanical and hardware system interactions
- Ability to operate effectively under customer-facing escalation pressure
- Excellent technical communication and meeting facilitation skills
