Description and Requirements
This role sits close to R&D and works with both internal engineering teams and outsourced test partners to ensure high‑quality server platforms across CPU, memory, storage, networking, and accelerator subsystems.
- Act as test execution leadfor server system hardware functional validation
- Develop and own hardware validation plans, test strategies, and coverage definitions
- Lead and support test execution using defined test plans, SOPs, schedules, and processes
- Drive test schedule, risk, and issue management, including cross‑team coordination
- Support debugging and issue triage by working closely with development and vendor teams
- Mentor and guide outsourced test engineers during execution phases
- Compute & Platform: CPU, Memory, PCIe, TPM / TCM, onboard Video, Legacy Ports, USB
- Accelerators: GPGPU (including functional and stress validation)
- Storage:
- SAN / SAS Controllers
- SATA / SAS HDD & SSD, NVMe SSD
- RAID configurations
- Networking: Ethernet, RDMA
- System Stress & Reliability:
- Cycling Tests
- System Stress / Burn‑in Tests
- 3+ years of experiencein server or storage‑related testing
- Solid understanding of server hardware platforms, including:
- CPU, Memory, Motherboard, PSU
- BIOS / UEFI, BMC
- Experience installing and validating server OS environments:
- Windows
- Linux
- VMware
- Hands‑on experience with server NIC testing, including:
- Multiple speeds and interfaces
- Basic functions: PXE, WOL
- Advanced features: SR‑IOV, VXLAN
- Strong ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate clearly in spoken and written English
- Experience with storage technologies and environments, including:
- SAS / FC / FCoE / iSCSI SAN
- Host discovery, LUN mapping
- MPIO installation and configuration
- Experience validating NVMe, RAID, and enterprise storage peripherals
- Background in server ODM / OEM environments, especially large‑scale server platforms
- Experience supporting or validating platforms involving GPU certification and test tools
- Exposure to InfiniBand and Omni‑Pathtechnologies
- Experience working with outsourced or contract test teams
- Understanding of hardware design concepts(signal integrity, platform architecture)
- Prior involvement in test strategy definitionrather than execution only
- Ownership beyond execution: influence test strategy, quality decisions, and risk mitigation
- Close collaboration with R&D, vendors, and platform architects
