POSITION SUMMARY
The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Controlling, Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, and Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and quality transactional financial operated in line with company standard, local and US GAAP
- Ensure all tax requirements are addressed in a timely manner in accordance with US GAAP, local/statutory standards
- Proactive delivery on all business unit & corporate reporting requirements
- Provide leadership for monthly/quarterly close, monthly reviews with finance team, account reconciliations, and corporate requests for data to fulfill external reporting requirements
- Establish and monitor policies and procedures, cascades regulatory and accounting policy throughout efficient communication as a resource in all aspects of Viatris
- Responsible for direction, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of legal entities
- Responsible for the coordination with the Financial Shared Service center (GBS Dalian) and the local service provider for all financial activities, including RTR (Record to Report), PTP (Procurement to Pay) & local statutory and tax requirements as well as the support on ad hoc projects
- Participate in Balance Sheet Reviews, reconcile P/L and B/S accounts as assigned and ensure outstanding items get cleared timely
- Responsible for timely and accurate submission of statutory tax reporting requirements (e.g., annual tax return, WHT and VAT) and corporate tax reporting package
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and projections to effectively manage cash balances
- Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments
- Ensure the liquidity of the company with a strong focus on AR/DSO management
- Stakeholders & Executives Engagement
- External: Be a liaison to Tax Office and external auditors in his/her capacity as Finance Controller in order to maintain and increase good relationship that leads mutual requirements/benefits.
- Internal: Engaging with HQ/Regional/Local executives as well as Commercial leaders to ensure directional and priorities alignment
- Compliance and Internal Control
- Maintain adequacy and effective internal control system/procedures as means to safeguard company assets (cash and non-cash) and procedures for legal entities.
- Ensure respect of group standard (Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Legal and Tax) in line with legislation and best practices of internal audit
- Lead Changing Organization & People Development
- Design the organizational blueprint to meet business requirement & evolving trend in Finance outsourcing projects
- Recruit, develop and retain the right talent
- Assisting in building an inclusive and collaborative team with good culture
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Report to Taiwan Finance Lead,
- Taiwan Commercial Team, including Market access and KAM, Pricing, Marketing, and sales team
- Regional & Global Finance Team
- Enabling functions, such as HR, Supply Chain, RA, Medical and Procurement
- Global project teams
FINANCIAL & PEOPLE ACCOUNTABILITY
- Support 2 legal entities: L-Mylan & Viatris
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, MBA degree or CPA preferred
- At least 10-year working experience in Finance, and/or Accounting
- At least 5-year experience in managing Statutory and Management P&L
- At least 2-year experience in a managerial position
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is a plus
