Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) (several posts) of the Estates Office (Ref.: 534466)
We are looking for Facilities Officers (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) to join the Facilities Management Team of the Estates Office.
The Role
The appointees will be responsible for the routine maintenance of building services systems, including fire safety systems, ventilation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing and drainage systems. Additionally, they will oversee improvement and alteration projects across various facilities, with the objective of enhancing system efficiency and performance.
Key responsibilities include managing tendering procedures, monitoring on-site project progress, supervising contractors, and liaising with external vendors. They will also be involved in ensuring the renewal of relevant certificates, monitoring service agreements, and coordinating communications with user departments, internal teams, and external consultants to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with safety standards and quality requirements.
The appointees may be required to work shifts, overtime, and on public holidays, subject to prior arrangement. Furthermore, they may be designated as emergency team coordinators outside office hours.

The appointments will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
