Executive Officer I (carrying the job title of Manager (Events))
The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning, managing and co-ordinating strategic, high-profile events that advance the University's priorities and institutional reputation (b) engaging and liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders, including University management, faculties, government bodies, alumni, donors and partners, and managing stakeholder expectations and sensitivities throughout the event lifecycle (c) driving cross unit collaboration, special projects and initiatives related to strategic events (d) mentoring junior colleagues to foster professionalism, agility and excellence in event delivery and (e) performing other duties as assigned, subject to manpower resources of the team.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website: (iii) at least 10 years post qualification executive experience in the public relations and communications field, preferably involving high profile events (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua) (v) strong stakeholder engagement, organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills, with attentiveness to detail and sound professional judgement and (vi) proven hands on event management experience with demonstrated capability across the full event lifecycle, from event design and concept development through production planning, logistical implementation and on site execution. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test in both Chinese and English.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract end gratuity for a 2 year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
