Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
Role Summary
The Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for driving a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment. This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with Taiwan regulations and GE standards, with scope covering emergency response, fire protection, risk assessment, contractor and vehicle safety, LOTO, industrial hygiene, EHS training, and daily site safety walks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Management
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules and emergency response plans.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Investigate and report incidents and near misses and support the development of corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
2. Compliance Management
- Ensure the company, employees, and contractors comply with Taiwan occupational safety and health regulations and GE EHS requirements.
- Plan and execute internal and external audits for ISO 45001.
- Prepare, coordinate, and maintain required EHS documentation, permits, and regulatory reports.
3. Training and Education
- Plan and deliver EHS-related training, including license/certification-related courses for employees and contractors.
- Maintain training records and ensure required EHS competencies are up to date.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, track, and analyze EHS performance data and indicators.
- Develop and follow up on EHS improvement plans based on data insights.
- Prepare regular EHS reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
5. Occupational Environment Monitoring
- Monitor and report environmental and occupational exposure indicators (for example, chemicals and noise levels).
- Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring activities and follow up on improvement actions when necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Occupational Safety, Health, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of EHS/safety management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing); TOEIC score of 550 or above is preferred
