Molex is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the HPC2 New Product Development team. This role focuses on the mechanical design and development of cable and cable-PCB related products, supporting new product introduction from concept through validation and release.
The ideal candidate is proactive, technically curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a global, cross-functional environment. This position offers strong exposure to customer interaction, system-level product design, and long-term growth opportunities within Molex.

Engineering HPC2 (New product development team)
What You Will Do
Collaborate with global engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and customers to understand requirements and translate VOC into robust mechanical design solutions.
- Lead and contribute to mechanical design, development, and validation activities, with primary focus on cable assemblies and cable-PCB related designs.
- Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation; manage BOMs and drawing revisions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct DFM reviews with suppliers, support prototyping, and resolve manufacturability and assembly issues.
- Perform mechanical design analysis, simulation, testing documentation, and DFMEA to ensure product reliability and compliance.
- Evaluate design feasibility for new projects by leveraging existing platforms while also developing new designs and intellectual property.
- Support internal engineering activities including design reviews, validation builds, and technical problem-solving.
- Build and maintain component-level and product-level databases using standard office tools (e.g., Excel) to improve design reuse and engineering efficiency.
- Develop design guidelines and drawing templates aligned with customer and internal standards.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or product design engineering.
- Solid understanding of the mechanical product development process, from concept through mass production.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (NX preferred; AutoCAD or equivalent acceptable).
- Working knowledge of PCB integration, surface finishes, assembly processes, and product development workflows.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and email communication in English.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience in cable assemblies, high-speed connectors, or interconnect products.
- Background in consumer, commercial, or electronic product development.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience interacting directly with customers.
- Broad mechanical engineering knowledge with depth in precision components or electromechanical systems.
