Job Description

Are you an experienced electrical inspection professional with a strong background in substation equipment and large-scale power projects Are you passionate about ensuring the highest quality standards in complex offshore wind developments If so, LAUTEC has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Electrical Equipment Inspector.

The RoleAs an Onshore Substation Electrical Equipment Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing and verifying the quality of electrical equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities associated with the onshore substation of a major offshore wind project in Taiwan. The role focuses on ensuring that all electrical systems and components are installed, tested and documented in accordance with approved technical specifications, project requirements and international quality standards.

What You Will Do

  • Inspect and verify installation, testing, FAT/SAT and commissioning of electrical equipment including transformers, GIS, harmonic filter, reactors, protection & control panels, LV/MV systems, earthing and SCADA.
  • Implement and sign off approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including Hold and Witness points.
  • Witness FATs and SATs and verify completeness and compliance of test results.
  • Identify, raise, and follow up Non-Conformities (NCRs) and verify corrective actions.
  • Review and validate project quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, calibration certificates, and traceability.
  • Support punch list management and final handover documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable IEC standards, ISO 9001, Employer Requirements, and local regulations.
  • Maintain independence from construction and installation activities.
  • Conduct quality inspection audits during the manufacturing phase.

What Are We Looking For

  • Relevant degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or similar, paired with a general interest in developing renewable energy projects.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven work experience in electrical inspection, testing and commissioning for substations, offshore wind or large power projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/MV electrical equipment, protection systems, earthing, SCADA and auxiliary systems.
  • Proven experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning and ITP implementation.
  • Ability to review technical drawings, procedures, and engineering documentation with attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • Familiarity with IEC standards and ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Certification as an Electrical Inspector or HV Authorised Person, as well as familiarity with local regulatory requirements (such as EBL, BSMI or PE stamping), would be considered a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrates confidence in raising NCRs and interfacing with contractors and Employer teams.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin, enabling clear and effective communication.
