This position is offered at Apple's Hardware Module Reliability Group. We are looking for a practical, creative, and collaborative engineer with right skillset and experiences to conduct reliability studies of Apple products display components.
Description
As a Display Reliability Engineer, you will have a wide range of responsibilities in developing and executing novel opto-electrical techniques for reliability studies of Apple display modules. You will assess Reliability by analyzing the resulting data and work cross-functionally to provide directions for designing and manufacturing Apple display systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate and maintain custom automated data acquisition systems
- Optical and electrical testing of display components
- Work with suppliers to build, maintain and troubleshoot custom test equipment
- Set up reliability test infrastructure at Apple suppliers in Asia.
- Generate reliability test plans and drive test execution at Apple suppliers in Asia.
- Analyze and summarize reliability data
- Establish specifications for Display Module reliability
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 3+ yrs of experience
- Understand physics behind optical & electrical properties of materials
- Knowledge of opto-electrical measurement equipment, automatic data acquisition systems
- Reliability test ownership, ability to create standard operating procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently, as well collaboratively with other team members
- Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
- Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 2+ yrs of experience
- Proven record of solving difficult engineering problems
- Adept in statistical data analysis and capable of clear reporting
- Matlab/Python/LabView or other scripting language knowledge is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once including running activities remotely at third party vendor sites overseas
- Flexibility to accept new tasks and go beyond one's comfort zone to pursue the solution to new and unexpected problems
- Dynamic person with a can do attitude and a dream to work with a great team and product
