Job Description

Job Purpose

As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and implementing hotel sales and marketing strategies and tactical plans, ensuring effective execution. You will monitor implementation effectiveness to meet market share objectives, and deliver revenue and room sales targets.

Team Management

  • Manage daily operations, plan and allocate work assignments.
  • Develop the team and improve performance through coaching and timely feedback; set performance and development goals for team members, and recognize top performers.
  • Train team members to ensure they meet hotel revenue targets in line with standards and are equipped with the tools to work efficiently.
  • Create a positive working environment for team development; collaborate closely with all departments to foster a One Team culture.
  • Handle hotel external relations: guests, suppliers and other contacts as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key clients and external contacts to drive revenue growth.

Guest Experience

  • Provide guests with information (e.g., loyalty programs, local attractions, F&B outlets, hotel amenities) to enhance guest experience.
  • Coordinate meetings and business events held at the hotel; work with all hotel departments to fulfill service commitments agreed by the Sales team with potential clients.
  • Communicate all relevant details to concerned departments, including requirements and special requests for upcoming VIPs, large groups and other important guests.
  • Lead marketing campaigns and conduct upselling of hotel services, products and facilities to guests.

Financial Results

  • Achieve all individual/team sales targets to maximize profitability.
  • Assist in developing department budgets, financial plans and hotel marketing strategies.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to increase occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), business volume, and F&B & banquet revenue.
  • Review monthly reports and sales forecasts; analyze current and potential marketing trends; coordinate activities to grow revenue and market share, monitor progress and ensure performance meets or exceeds revenue plans.
  • Create and launch special events and sales campaigns to promote the hotel to potential clients; participate in local and national tradeshows and key marketing events to generate new business opportunities and enhance hotel marketing exposure.

Corporate Responsibility

  • Maintain close relationships with key business leaders, officials and representatives of local community groups to ensure consistent high visibility for the hotel.
  • Actively promote the hotel's environmental and sustainability initiatives to generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with advertising agencies, consultants and other vendors to maximize return on advertising investment and ensure brand alignment.
  • Enhance the hotel and brand's local presence and reputation; act as the hotel spokesperson for media interviews.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in marketing campaigns and overall hotel sales performance; work closely with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in sales & marketing in service or hotel industry, with direct experience managing a sales team.
  • Strong knowledge of local business landscape and market trends.
  • Fluent in Mandarin; proficient in English as a working language.
