The Role
We are looking for a
Devex / Capex Cost Controller to join the Project Management Office (PMO) and support the financial management of offshore wind development projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for
cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring that project financial data is accurate and reflects the latest approved budgets and forecasts. You will work closely with package managers, project leadership, and finance teams to support
effective cost control, transparency, and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Manage the project cost management process, ensuring the finance system contains the latest approved project budget and forecast information for both Devex and Capex.
- Support package managers in ensuring the value of work done (VOWD) is accurately reflected in the financial systems and aligned with project progress.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the project work breakdown structure (WBS) within the finance and reporting systems.
- Prepare and maintain monthly cost and liquidity forecasts, including analysis of variances against approved budgets and previous forecasts.
- Support the month-end financial closing process, ensuring costs incurred, accruals, and value of work done are correctly reflected in project reporting.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and cost reports for the project management team, including narrative explanations of key variances and cost drivers , and facilitate the preparation of Purchase Requisitions and supporting decision material .
- Support the project contingency management process, tracking contingency usage and supporting governance and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with finance and investment model teams to ensure alignment between project reporting and financial modelling assumptions.
Your Experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in project cost control, financial planning, or project finance, ideally within large infrastructure, construction, or energy projects.
- Good understanding of project cost management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Experience working with financial systems or ERP tools and managing project financial data.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear reporting and insights for project stakeholders.
