The Design Assurance Team support Zebra's promise of quality to our customers and is responsible for ensuring products meet specifications throughout program phases from components to final product
Responsibilities:
Working as part of a design team, provides all design assurance deliverables required in the development process at each phase, including:
- Evaluation of materials, properties and techniques used in production of Zebra's devices or solutions
- Advising design engineering on the selection, application and test of Mechanical and /or Electronic components, optical/machine vision or autonomous systems or solutions.
- Recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability
- Determining reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any governmental agency reliability objectives
- Using statistical methods to design reliability and verification test plans
- Participate in creation and analysis of qualification test plan and results
- Creating and analyzing designed experiments to determine main effects of low complexity device sub-system to improve designs
- Using hypothesis testing and other statistical methods to assess the significance of test results
- Actively reviewing, understand and applying the Market Requirements Documents and Engineering Specifications to quantify metrics and acceptance thresholds
- May be responsible for quality and reliability sub team activities to support the initiatives of the core development team, program manager or product line management deliverables
- Leading Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Quality Function Deployment efforts
Communicates pro-actively with the project team and other stakeholders about progress against reliability analysis and results. Uses experience and knowledge to pro-actively identifies risks to the project and contribute beyond personal scope of deliverables. Contributes to overall project leadership.
Level 3 roles typically focus on a subset of products /devices in Zebra's portfolio
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred 5 -7 years work experience Education and training in quality disciplines is required
- Problem solving and analytical ability
- Full knowledge of job related policies and procedures as well as corporate policies and procedures
- Six Sigma training or similar certification / training preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
