ROLE SUMMARY
The Critical Facilities Engineer is a member of our 24x7 Data Center Facilities Management team and reports to Facilities Manager. He / she is responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and installations, and collaborating with others to resolve incidents and to keep smooth operations of data center facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage facilities technicians to operate and maintain mission critical facilities of data centers on 24x7 basis to achieve service level requirements and specifications.
- Project engineer of addition & alternation works of new and existing customers.
- Manage contractors and vendors in operation, maintenance and repair of mission critical facilities.
- Respond to emergencies and lead the facilities technicians and service vendors to resume availability and service levels of the data centers.
- Develop, review and revise operation & maintenance requirements, procedures and programs with internal parties and service vendors. Evaluate vendor performance and report to manager.
- Participate in ISO certifications and audits.
- Maintain and update accurate inventories of facilities, apparatus and tools.
- Lead and train technicians to follow and comply with standard operating procedures, escalation procedures, incident & change procedures.
- Assist reporting manager in administration of the facilities team.
QUALIFICATION
- Degree / College Diploma graduates in Electrical Engineering or equivalent years of experience
- Electrical engineer should have Class B technicians in the categories of indoor wiring, industrial wiring, distribution line decoration, electrical equipment inspection, transformer decoration or substation equipment decoration. And 3 years experiences for HV system operation.
- 5 years or above experience in operation and maintenance of 24x7 mission critical facilities
- Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, in particular HV system, UPS, Generators, Static Switches, fuel system.
- More than 4 years of experience working in HV system operation.
- Relevant experience in data center / telecommunications industry preferable.
- Good team player, strong project management, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO certification and audits.
- Able to work under pressure and out of office hours if necessary.
- Simple communication in English and Chinese.
- Knowledge in BMS, DCIM or Remedy systems an advantage.
