Job Summary
Prepare accurate product costing and support quotation activities to improve profitability and ensure competitive pricing for customers in an EMS/manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Request and compare quotations (RFQs) to identify best pricing and terms
- Prepare detailed cost analyses and product cost breakdowns to support pricing decisions
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize procurement costs
- Monitor material costs continuously and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Maintain supplier relationships and performance records to ensure reliable supply
- Support procurement, budgeting, and inventory planning activities to align with production needs
- Ensure compliance with company sourcing and purchasing policies to maintain standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Production, Planning, and Sales to support business objectives
- Apply strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in costing, sourcing, procurement, or purchasing within an EMS/manufacturing environment
- Experience sourcing electronic components, PCB assemblies, mechanical parts, and manufacturing services
- Knowledge of BOM (Bill of Materials) costing and product cost analysis
- Familiarity with RFQ/RFP processes, supplier selection, and vendor management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems (SAP)
- Good understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and supply chain management
