As a Contract Manager, you will be stationed at the project site, reporting directly to the Project Manager and functionally to the Head of International Contract Management. Your responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the obligations register preparing, updating, and monitoring entries.
- Daily coordination with the Project Manager and team to ensure timely fulfillment of company obligations.
- Raising awareness within the project team about the importance of meeting contractual commitments and leveraging rights and opportunities.
- Reviewing communications daily at all levelsclient, subcontractors, and internal exchanges.
- Drafting and proposing contractual correspondence such as notices, warnings, and instructions to subcontractors.
- Preparing responses to contractual correspondence, including replies to client and subcontractor letters.
- Issuing contractual notices and claims and following up on their progress.
- Identifying potential claim risks and developing defensive strategies with the Project Manager and team.
- Ensuring implementation of defensive strategies and achievement of intended outcomes.
- Brainstorming contractual opportunities with the project team.
- Executing measures to seize opportunities, including initiating variation orders, value engineering, and negotiating settlements with relevant parties.
- Promoting amicable settlements to resolve disputes with all stakeholders.
- Assessing project strengths and weaknesses and proposing resolution strategies with the Project Manager.
- Maintaining cordial communication among disputing parties and participating in negotiation meetings.
- Engaging in alternative dispute resolution when disputes cannot be settled amicably.
- Tracking prerequisites for contract closure to ensure obligations linked to takeover and final completion certificates are met on time.
- Monitoring and clearing remaining defects.
- Ensuring all company liabilities are discharged and obtaining unconditional final completion certificates.
