Team / division overview

The CFO Division of DWS has presence in Frankfurt, London, New York, and APAC and is responsible for ensuring sound risk, finance and procurement management. It comprises Risk, Procurement and Finance. Finance includes Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax as well as Capital & Liquidity Management, Regional CFOs /Finance and Corporate Accounting. The APAC locations comprise Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, Philippines, India, Japan, Taiwan and China.

Role Details - You will be responsible for all finance, local regulatory and tax reporting, forecasting and planning as well as treasury related activities, including interaction with various external bodies, local internal stakeholders and global peers across our APAC locations. You will also lead our transition from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4 Hana in the region.

As a CFO APAC, you will be responsible for:

  • be the primary contact for external bodies and internal stakeholders for any finance, tax or treasury related aspects
  • support entity boards across DWS APAC locations and be a board member of some, acting as a business partner by providing commercial advice on the financial implications from key decisions
  • lead and further develop a team of local CFOs across multiple APAC locations, supported by our team in the Philippines
  • drive proactive financial analyses and contribute financials for key presentations addressed to the most senior decision makers in DWS
  • need to be ready to step into the detail and deliver solutions for any finance issues arising, working collaboratively with other teams
  • ensure appropriate integrity and controls over the entities financial records and compliance with relevant statutory, accounting, regulatory, tax and transfer pricing requirements in providing accurate, timely and complete reporting
  • lead various strategic projects, as required, from an APAC CFO perspective

We are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant degree equivalent qualifications
  • ICAEW or ACCA qualified
  • A minimum of 10-years leadership experience with direct experience of working and managing staff in multiple APAC locations, in particular Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, Philippines, India, Japan, Taiwan and China, including experience working for a European Asset Manager across multiple APAC locations in auditing, tax, accounting and finance including local regulatory reporting
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English is a must and Chinese (Mandarin / Cantonese) strongly preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, working with a Board of Directors, business advisory and partnerships, tax and other regulatory audit
  • Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial, inquisitive mindset coupled with strong analytical and excellent interpersonal skills and an emphasis on teamwork
  • Profound knowledge of SAP R/3 and ideally experience in SAP S/4 Hana
  • Detailed Tax and treasury knowledge across multiple APAC locations
  • Profound knowledge of IFRS and relevant local GAAP accounting
  • IPO and M&A experience
  • Previous Board membership experience across multiple APAC locations preferred
