Position Summary:
As the Sales Manager for North Asia, this Position will lead and drive the sales strategy and business growth of PSG in North Asian markets, including Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and surrounding regions. You will leverage strong commercial acumen, cross-cultural communication skills, and team management experience to develop and execute regional sales plans, achieve performance targets, and enhance company s brand presence and market share in North Asia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the sales team as the key strategic sales leader for the business unit, covering including but not limited to the PSG brands like Wilden, Almatec, Blackmer, Hydro, and Mouvex, reporting to the VP, Asia, who will serve as the local market experts. The primary responsibility will be to execute the growth strategy and achieve annual operating plan targets.
- Design and execute a global, multi-channel sales strategy with a focus on accounting relationships and growth. Ensure that all sales channels are trained in PSG products and sales approaches.
- Develop and implement annual sales plans and budgets for the North Asia region (Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, etc.) to achieve sales targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt sales strategies for sustained competitiveness.
- Actively involved in all aspects of key customer and distribution relationships, will plan and execute engagement with channel partners for quarterly/annual business planning and execution.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their business needs and objectives. Based on customer input and feedback, make changes to the sales strategy as needed.
- Identify and recommend strategies to maintain and improve the organization's competitive position.
- Communicate important information to the staff and sales team. will also be the lead in handling customer issues as needed.
- Develop and implement a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy to manage interactions with customers and sales prospects. This strategy will organize, automate, and synchronize sales activities, marketing communications, customer service, and technical support.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the regional sales team (including local sales representatives and partners) through coaching and training.
- Collaborate closely with headquarters departments (Product, Marketing, Technical Support, etc.) to ensure prompt and effective responses to customer needs.
- Attract, develop, and retain talent to ensure that the right skills and motivation are in the right place at the right time.
- Assess organizational capabilities and develop action plans to address gaps and weaknesses.
- Regularly collect and report regional sales data, market feedback, and project updates to support management decision-making.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, technical seminars, and networking events to enhance brand visibility in North Asia.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and local regulations and mitigate business risks.
- Provide regular coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Analyze and communicate regional sales forecasts.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of sales experience in industrial equipment (pumps, fluid handling, machinery, etc.), with at least 3 years in a managerial role covering North Asia or similar markets (Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, etc.).
- Prior experience in multinational corporations or large industrial equipment companies is preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, customer relationship management, and business development abilities.
- Proficient in CRM systems and office software, with strong data analysis skills.
- Exceptional cross-cultural communication skills and adaptability to multicultural environments.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken); proficiency in Japanese or Korean is a strong advantage.
- Results-driven, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Based in Taiwan and willingness to travel frequently in North Asia.
