Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys making operations run flawlessly
Do you like owning equipment from workshop to offshore projects, solving problems before they become issues, and being the technical backbone of successful survey operations If so, this role is for you.
We're looking for a
Base Engineer to join our Engineering & Operations team in our warehouse in
Taichung -someone who takes pride in preparation, precision, and supporting offshore and international projects from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Be the go-to engineer for daily workshop operations and technical support
- Take full ownership of survey and IT equipment-receiving, inspecting, maintaining, calibrating, mobilising, and demobilising
- Work closely with Operations during project planning to ensure the right equipment and software are selected for each job
- Troubleshoot hardware and systems issues for field and offshore teams
- Prepare equipment so it is fully compliant, documented, and fit-for-purpose before mobilisation
- Support international and offshore mobilisations and demobilisations
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and liaise with suppliers to ensure equipment quality
- Maintain accurate asset, calibration, and logistics records
- Actively contribute to technical reviews, risk assessments, and lessons learned
- Keep the workshop and warehouse safe, organised, and compliant with HSE standards
- Help improve processes, technology, and ways of working
What You'll Need
- A solid technical background in electronics, ICT, or survey systems
- Strong IT and PC hardware knowledge with excellent fault-finding skills
- Experience in a survey, offshore, or field engineering environment
- Confidence working independently while collaborating closely with operations and logistics teams
- Clear communication skills in English and Mandarin
- A proactive mindset-you spot issues early and take ownership of solutions
- A full Taiwan driving licence.
Nice To Have (But Not Essential)
- Offshore or field experience as a Survey Engineer
- Knowledge of logistics, customs, and international shipping
- Offshore certifications
- Crane certification and practical experience.
