Role Purpose
We are looking for a high-level Data Analyst who is obsessed with uncovering the Why behind merchant behavior. You won't be responsible for designing the final roadmap; instead, you will be the primary engine for insight discovery. You will dive deep into the data to identify market entry points and merchant engagement triggers, providing the Senior Manager with the critical evidence needed to build winning strategies. This role requires an investigative mind that can look at Mid-to-Longtail merchants and see a story that others miss.
Key Responsibilities
- Opportunity Mining: Actively hunt for market entry points by analyzing supply gaps and demand trends. You provide the raw insights that answer: Where should we play next
- Merchant Behavioral Analysis: Conduct deep-dives into the Mid-to-Longtail merchant segment. You will analyze their performance patterns to identify specific Engagement Hooks that can be used to trigger better platform participation.
- A/B Testing & Hypothesis Validation: Assist the Manager by testing strategic hypotheses. You will design the data framework to prove whether a specific merchant engagement tactic is actually driving product competitiveness.
- Proactive Insight Reporting: Move beyond standard dashboards. You will produce Insight Briefs that highlight emerging trends, merchant pain points, and competitive threats before they become obvious.
- Data-to-Strategy Translation: Work as the Translator for the Senior Manager. You take messy, complex data and distill it into clear, logical points of view that can be directly integrated into merchant communication and platform policy.
The Requirements
- Experience: 3-5years in Data Analytics within E-commerce or Tech. You must have a history of providing insights that led to tangible business shifts.
- Detective Mindset (Curiosity): You have an insatiable curiosity. You don't just see a number; you want to know the merchant's motivation behind it.
- Extreme Attention to Detail: At this level, your data is the foundation of the Manager's strategy. You must be exceptionally meticulousyour insights must be bulletproof.
- Specialized in Longtail Dynamics: Experience in marketplace dynamics, specifically how to move the needle for a massive number of smaller (Mid-longtail) merchants.
- Technical Excellence: Advanced SQL and Python/R. You should be comfortable manipulating massive datasets to find subtle correlations.
- Ownership of Discovery: While you don't own the final strategy, you own the discovery process. You are proactive in finding problems and opportunities without being told where to look.
