Job Description

Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) () is an academic unit supporting teaching and learning enhancement at the University through a wide variety of professional development activities and projects. CLEAR also supports the University's quality-assurance process for teaching and learning.Applicants should have: (i) a doctoral degree or equivalent (ii) ample years of teaching experience in higher education (iii) demonstrated experience in effective and consistent teaching performance, evidenced by one or more of the following:1. strong teaching effectiveness, as reflected in positive student feedback or peer review evaluations
2. contribution to curriculum development, including the adoption of innovative course design or instructional enhancements
3. involvement in the development or implementation of instructional, pedagogical, or teaching-related initiatives with measurable impact within the relevant discipline
4. participation in quality assurance, review, or enhancement activities related to teaching and learning and/or
5. supporting the strategic and pedagogical integration of AI tools in teaching and learning, including generative AI, adaptive learning technologies, and AI‑supported feedback systems, in line with international best practices.(iv) a record of teaching and learning related research with demonstrated high impact in higher education and (v) excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.Reporting to the Director, the appointee will (a) assist in fostering teaching excellence, integrating AI tools into educational practices, and promoting effective teaching and assessment methodologies for the University academic community (b) provide professional development opportunities for CUHK teachers, emphasizing the incorporation of AI in enhancing student learning environments and supporting innovative approaches to curriculum development and evaluation of teaching practices (c) support the development and effective use of electronic, instructional, and emerging AI-enabled educational technologies, including contributing to initiatives that enhance personalized learning experiences and (d) assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of research activities within the Centre related to the application and impact of AI in higher education, with a focus on emerging trends and best practices in teaching and learning.Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
