Job Summary

The incumbent of the Application Management Office (AMO) is responsible for building and leading a centralized shared services function that supports all application development teams across the organization. This role will drive operational excellence, software delivery quality, and compliance. Key accountabilities include establishing robust vendor management practices-especially for strategic partners -overseeing the Production Support Scrum Team to ensure reliable and efficient incident resolution, and centralizing administrative activities related to vendor management and procurement. The incumbent will also set up and govern a Release Team to manage and uplift software delivery quality, implementing best practices in release management, automation, and risk controls.

The role requires strong leadership in process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. The incumbent will ensure that all shared services are delivered efficiently, align with business objectives, and comply with internal governance and regulatory requirements. Success in this position will be measured by improvements in delivery quality, operational stability, vendor performance, and overall service satisfaction.

The Job

  • Build and manage a centralized shared services function for application teams, including vendor governance, production support, procurement, and release management

  • Oversee strategic software and infrastructure vendors to ensure performance, compliance, and value

  • Lead the Production Support Scrum Team to resolve incidents efficiently, improve reliability, and implement best practices

  • Govern release processes, perform quality assurance, and drive automation to enhance software delivery

  • Streamline vendor and procurement workflows, documentation, and compliance

  • Enforce SDLC discipline, risk controls, and audit readiness

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related discipline
  • 15+ years in application development within financial institutions (insurance/banking), including 7 years leading teams delivering regulated systems
  • Proven expertise in SDLC governance (Waterfall/Agile), test management, and Change/Release Management in complex, integrated environments
  • Proven experience with vendor management, production support, and release governance
  • Strong stakeholder management across Compliance, Operational Risk, IT Security, Data Governance and business functions excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level
  • Business acumen to translate complex technical strategies into tangible business value
  • Collaborative mindset with experience managing internal teams and external service providers
  • Comfort with audit/assurance practices, control testing, and evidence management
