Assistant Computer Officer
Zhizhen School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences is looking for an Assistant Computer Officer to support the IT services in the School. The appointee will be responsible for (a) daily inspection, maintenance, fault analysis, and handling of computer servers (e.g. email services, AD Domain services, computer clusters, etc.) (b) configuring and managing IT infrastructure and equipment including firewalls, networking equipment, and related devices (c) designing, developing and optimising the overall operations to enhance performance, reliability and security of different system platforms (d) providing technical support and troubleshooting to end-users to resolve IT issues (e) overseeing IT equipment inventory and ensuring proper maintenance (f) providing on-site technical support during non-office hours occasionally (g) maintaining and updating the School%27s websites and social media and (h) undertake special projects and perform any other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor%27s degree in Computer Science/Studies, Information Engineering, or related disciplines (ii) at least 3 years%27 hands-on experience in system administration and network/user management (iii) proficiency in networking, Linux, Windows Server, office automation, security incident handling, and technical support for the setup and renovation of server rooms, offices, and seminar rooms (iv) strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and organisation skills (v) excellent communication and presentation skills with a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and (vi) the ability to lead multiple projects with attributes such as flexibility, creativity, willingness to learn and collaborate in a team with self-motivation. Having experience or knowledge in cybersecurity, system and networking virtualisation, cloud platforms, IT automation and scripting, office automation, GPU management, and training large language models for internal document knowledge bases will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
