Application Developer Role (Java, Unix ,Python scripting, APIs)

Project Description:As a member of our Software Engineering Group, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals.

Responsibilities:

. Strong development background (not support-focused)
. Develop, maintain, and support applications using Java while following coding standards and best practices.
. Create and maintain automation scripts using Python and Unix shell scripting to streamline operational and development tasks.
. Work with APIs and WebSockets to integrate applications with external systems and enable real-time communication.
. Perform file transfers and data exchange using SFTP as part of application workflows.
. Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, validation, and database operations.
. Collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to implement application enhancements and bug fixes.
. Monitor application performance and provide timely support for incidents and service requests.

Mandatory Skills Description:

. 5+ years of strong experience in application development(not support focused).
. Hands-on experience with: Java, Unix, and Python scripting (preferred) and APIs - WebSocket, SFTP.
. Good programming knowledge of Python for application development and automation.
. Good understanding of Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
. Familiarity with Unix/Linux environment and Shell scripting.
. Knowledge of REST APIs and application integration concepts.
. Understanding of WebSockets and real-time communication concepts.
. Basic knowledge of SQL for writing queries and performing database operations.
. Familiarity with SFTP and file transfer processes.
. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
. Knowledge of debugging, testing, and troubleshooting applications.
