Role Overview
The Solutions Architect – Android Platform drives system-level strategy and execution for GN's next-generation purpose-built products, with a hands-on focus on Android OS and platform layers.
You will define system architecture and lead hardware and OS integration across Android platforms, optimizing performance, stability, security requirements, and platform compatibility to support long-term product lifecycle needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Android OS platform architecture and system partitioning for purpose-built devices.
- Establish security and platform compatibility requirements aligned with product and lifecycle objectives.
- Lead hardware and OS integration across chipset platforms, ensuring stable bring-up, performance optimization, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead deep technical reviews of vendor and JDM deliverables, resolving system-level gaps through structured debugging and corrective actions.
- Own system-level trade-offs across connectivity, audio, power management, and core system services.
- Identify and mitigate system-level risks early in the development cycle, including thermal constraints, radio coexistence, and long-term platform support.
- Drive cross-functional technical alignment across hardware, firmware, and platform engineering teams.
Professional Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Android platform or OS-level product development.
- Strong experience in Android OS platform integration, including framework-level components, system services, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Solid understanding of Android interaction with the Linux kernel and vendor BSP environments.
- Proven experience in system bring-up, platform stabilization, and long-term lifecycle maintenance.
- Experience working with chipset vendors and JDM/ODM partners on platform integration and delivery.
- Strong system-level thinking across performance, power management, connectivity reliability, and security requirements.
- Excellent technical leadership and influencing skills across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Fluency in English is required, both spoken and written.
