As the ATG (Advanced Technology Group) Manager at Positive Grid, you will lead the unification of our DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and ML (Machine Learning) innovation pipelines to empower the future of intelligent audio experiences.
This position will work closely with product, software, and executive teams. Your work will shape the technology core of our next-generation smart music products by providing clear vision, technical leadership, and scalable development frameworks.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep expertise in audio and machine learning technologies, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate technical innovation into user-facing value.
Typical Accountabilities
1.Define and drive the technology roadmap at the intersection of machine learning and audio engineering.
2.Lead development of ML systems for audio recognition, classification, tone modeling, and parameter optimization.
3.Collaborate with product, software, and design teams to bring ML-powered experiences to market.
4.Guide the integration of DSP systems that complement ML frameworks (e.g., effect chains, amp models, signal routing).
5.Promote the adoption of AI-enhanced workflows, tools, and platforms to boost engineering velocity and quality.
6.Establish scalable, agile-friendly development processes, promote reusable frameworks, and support cross-domain collaboration.
7.Mentor and grow a team of passionate ML and DSP engineers, and foster a culture of innovation, learning, and documentation.
8.Represent ATGs technical vision to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Essential
Masters degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
7+ years of experience in digital audio signal processing or related audio technology development
5+ years of experience leading technical teams and driving complex cross-functional projects
Solid understanding of machine learning workflows, model development, and deployment in audio applications
Hands-on experience in audio DSP algorithms, virtual analog modeling, or real-time systems
Proven ability to modernize development practices for better speed, collaboration, and innovation
Strong communication skills able to clearly convey technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering audiences
Strategic thinker with a passion for applying AI and emerging technologies to audio/music products
Desirable
PhD in DSP, machine learning, audio engineering, or related fields
Commercial experience in building audio software, plugins, or music production tools
Leadership experience in audio product development, music tech companies, or startups
Track record of applying agile or modern development methodologies effectively
Familiarity with embedded DSP systems or resource-constrained environments
Published research or patents in music signal processing, machine learning, or AI audio applications
Background or interest in music production, performance, or sound engineering
Experience leading projects that involve integration across multiple tech stacks or global teams
