Job Description

ACST Semiconductor Technology Development Engineering of Qnity Electronics in Taiwan has an opening for a Product Development Engineer. The product development engineer's main tasks lie in product scale up and process development. This position will be responsible for validation and scale up of the raw materials in semiconductor business, and design and continuous improvement of the process for intermediate and product such as metal purification and filtration process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop overall product process from laboratory scale to high volume manufacturing scale
  • Lead cross-functional teams in problem solving, development of improvement plans and root cause analysis
  • Generate technical data according to the requirement
  • Conduct lab experiments, data analysis and documentation on findings
  • Utilize DOE (design of experiments) and FMEA (failure mode and effect analysis) tools to approach to the solution
  • Engage with customers to understand market trend and prioritize quality improvement item
  • Actively participate in EH&S (environment, health and safety) programs to ensure high standard of safety.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material science Required

Qualifications

  • A thorough understanding of organic/inorganic/polymer chemistry and chemical engineering
  • 3 year experience in relevant field is a plus
  • Understanding of mass transport phenomena is a plus
  • Understanding metal reduction using ion exchange resin is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple projects with varying deadlines and commitment
  • Ability to lead deep technical discussions and market/customer discussions
  • Good communication skill in English
  • Work experience in semiconductors, electronic material, chemical industries and polymerization are preferred.
  • Able to develop and implement project plan and to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
