Job Description

You are a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations. You thrive in a role where accuracy, structure, and accountability matter, and where your work directly supports business continuity, compliance, and sound financial decision-making.

The Role

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing core accounting and financial processes for our business in Taiwan. The role has a broad operational scope, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, banking activities, and statutory filings. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely payments, accurate reporting, and compliance with local regulations. The role reports to the Head of Finance and plays a key part in maintaining financial control and liquidity.

What You Will Do

  • Process and verify supplier invoices and ensure timely vendor payments (AP)
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, credit notes, and follow up on outstanding receivables (AR)
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll in coordination with HR and external accountants
  • Handle payroll-related reporting and employee payroll queries
  • Manage daily cash position, bank liquidity, and execute payments related to suppliers, payroll, and taxes
  • Lead the setup of our Taiwanese branch's internal accounting software and handover from our external accountant
  • Prepare and submit statutory filings, including VAT and Corporate Tax
  • Maintain documentation for audits and liaise with external auditors and advisors
  • Support month-end and year-end closings and internal financial reporting

What Are We Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role covering AP, AR, payroll, and cash management
  • Strong hands-on accounting experience with ownership of day-to-day financial processes
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance
  • Experience working with accounting and payroll systems
  • Solid Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP or integrated finance systems
  • Familiarity with VAT and corporate tax regulations
  • Experience in an SME or fast-paced international environment
  • Exposure to audit processes and external advisors
