- Assisting in the procurement of goods and services required by the organization.
- Coordinating with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and finalize purchase orders.
- Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory.
- Verifying receipt of goods and ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Resolving any issues or discrepancies with orders, invoices, or deliveries.
- Assisting in vendor management, including evaluating vendor performance and fostering positive relationships.
- Supporting cost-saving initiatives through price comparisons, negotiation, and identifying alternative suppliers.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as finance and inventory management, to optimize procurement processes and procedures.
- Providing administrative support to the procurement team, such as preparing reports, maintaining databases, and filing documents.
Minimum Qualifications Education And Experience
- Proficient or advanced in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to execute in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Expertise in negotiations, driving TCO (Total cost of ownership) analysis and development with supply base
- Team player
- Ability to influence without direct authority and drive for results
Preferred Qualifications Education And Experience
- Additional education and/or certifications i.e. a C.P.M., CPSM, CPSD, CPCM or other certificate in purchasing/procurement management
- Experience working in a GMP regulated environment
- Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, JIT, Kanban concepts
- Commodity management experience in Biologicals, Chemicals, and lab consumables
- Project Management
