Purpose of the Role
The intern will support the planning, implementation and evaluation of community-based wellbeing and cancer survivorship initiatives. The role includes healthcare data analysis, dashboard development, survey design and analysis, data clean-up, reporting automation, patient engagement, documentation, SharePoint organisation and communication coordination.

Job Description
1. Healthcare Operations & Programme Management – Support the delivery of Wellbeing and Survivorship initiatives within a tertiary cancer centre.
• Gain exposure to operational workflows within a tertiary cancer centre.
• Assist in the execution of Wellbeing and Survivorship initiatives.
• Coordinate patient engagement activities.
• Plan EDM schedules and activity calendars based on 2026 programme activities.
• Support programme logistics and implementation.
Learning outcome: Understanding of how clinical support programmes are designed, implemented and evaluated in a healthcare institution.
2. Healthcare Data Management & Analytics – Support programme monitoring through structured data, analysis and reporting tools.
• Clean and structure data for survivorship and wellbeing databases.
• Analyse data to support programme performance tracking.
• Assist in automating repetitive data and reporting processes.
• Develop dashboards for programmes such as NCIS On The Go, Wellbeing and Survivorship.
Learning outcome: Ability to transform raw healthcare data into meaningful insights for decision-making.
3. Quality Improvement & Service Enhancement – Use patient feedback and programme data to support service improvement.
• Design and analyse patient surveys.
• Develop improvement initiatives based on feedback.
• Support patient advocacy surveys.
• Translate patient insights into actionable recommendations.
Learning outcome: Practical exposure to healthcare quality improvement frameworks.
4. Documentation & Governance – Support consistent, sustainable and well-governed programme processes.
• Assist with SOP development and programme documentation.
• Support process mapping activities.
• Clean up and organise SharePoint into a structured programme repository.
Learning outcome: Understanding of how documentation supports sustainability and service continuity.
5. Patient Engagement & Advocacy – Support patient-centred wellbeing and survivorship activities.
• Support Wellbeing Centre engagement initiatives.
• Collect patient testimonials.
• Assist in programme activities.
• Contribute to patient communication planning, including EDMs.
Learning outcome: Exposure to psychosocial oncology and survivorship care beyond clinical treatment.
6. Digital & Communication Strategy – Support organised and timely programme communications.
• Assist in planning EDM schedules.
• Structure activity communications.
• Support content organisation across programme channels and repositories.
Learning outcome: Understanding of how communication supports programme uptake and patient engagement.
Role Requirements
• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Public Health, Healthcare Management, Life Sciences, Psychology, Business Analytics or a related field
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Meticulous and attentive to detail
• Interest in healthcare service improvement and patient engagement
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with dashboards, survey tools, data visualisation or SharePoint is advantageous
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare environment
• Able to handle programme and patient-related information professionally and responsibly
