VP, Trading Operations & Market Infrastructure (Asia)

My client is a leading global investment firm is seeking an experienced professional to build and expand its institutional trading infrastructure across Asia.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing market connectivity across multiple exchanges and counterparties, working closely with trading, technology and operations teams to develop scalable infrastructure supporting sophisticated trading strategies throughout the region.

The position offers significant ownership, with an initial focus on Greater China markets before expanding into other key Asian markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of institutional trading infrastructure across Asia, establishing robust market access and operational frameworks.
• Source, evaluate and manage relationships with brokers, exchanges, clearing partners, market data providers and technology vendors.
• Coordinate the onboarding of new counterparties, ensuring commercial, operational and technical readiness.
• Partner with trading and technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable trading workflows and infrastructure solutions.
• Drive implementation of trading connectivity, market data integration and production environments across multiple execution venues.
• Oversee project delivery from initial planning through testing, user acceptance, production rollout and post-launch support.
• Develop governance processes covering trading controls, operational risk, reconciliation and incident management.
• Support strategic expansion into new Asian markets by evaluating infrastructure requirements, regulatory considerations and execution capabilities.
• Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external trading partners to resolve operational and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience within institutional trading, electronic trading infrastructure, market connectivity, execution services or capital markets operations.
• Strong understanding of Asian market structure, including exchange connectivity, market data, clearing and settlement workflows.
• Experience working with brokers, exchanges, custodians, prime brokers or trading technology providers.
• Knowledge of institutional market access models, particularly within China and broader Asia, would be highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol, APIs, OMS/EMS platforms or electronic trading infrastructure is preferred.
• Strong project management capabilities with experience delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of ownership.
