Center of Excellence (COE) team within the GFM Chief Operating, Digital Business and Strategy (COD) is responsible for leading strategic transformation for specialised areas. This function aims to safeguard the business by aligning these key strategic areas with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards, and ensuring effective governance and process are in place and consistently applied Groupwide.
Key accountabilities includes:
- Develop subject matter knowledge base in these specialised areas from end-to-end perspective, including development of framework.
- Lead transformation, change management and platform management. to drive strategic, best-in-class digital solution to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
- Responsible for sound, practical solutions to ensure sustainability and business continuity across markets.
- Responsible for driving consistent, groupwide best practices in transformation and control platform in GFM markets.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Define, oversee, and strengthen the governance framework and principles in the assigned specialist areas including and not limited to transformation on sales, trading, limits, capital, market/liquidity/credit/counterparty risk limits management, liquidation, business continuity, etc. or areas of transformation across various domains of interest to GFM.
- Enforce consistencies and best practices across the GFM group to ensure groupwide practices, in particular those that yield significant impact, enterprise in nature, are consistent across markets, wherever applicable.
- Lead initiatives and studies across functions to ensure robust policies, control designs and monitoring mechanisms are in place to manage the risks while aligning to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Lead regular reviews on the governance frameworks on controls to address emerging risks and market developments.
- Partner with GFM desks and support units Finance, Credit, Market and Liquidity Risk Management, Technology and Operation teams to define and drive strategic transformation and continuous enhancements in enterprise processes, employee journeys by leveraging digital technologies, data analytics, AI techniques.
- Develop and strengthen knowledge in the team as coach, build up the enterprise knowledge base, while keeping abreast of latest regulations, trends, practices, and opportunities.
Experience required:
- Strong knowledge of GFM financial products, sales and trading processes, market and credit risk controls, and business continuity management practices.
- Proven track record on risk governance frameworks, agile project management, software project implementation, business process transformation leveraging technology and data.
- Can-do attitude, self-motivated, possess resilience with passion and advocate for change leveraging on AI solutions.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders, managing diverse audience, storyboarding for various persona adoption and drive change.
- Continuous self-improvement and learnings on modern methodologies and system solution highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of MUREX, journey thinking, Gen AI, machine learning, data-driven decision, and data visualization.
Education/Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, finance, economics, risk management, project management, information technology or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Ability to work in collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking abilities with passion for continuous learning.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to stakeholders.
