Our client is a well-established financial institution seeking an experienced VP, Operations Management (FICC) to lead a middle office team supporting a broad range of fixed income and derivatives products. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned operations professional with strong product knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in driving operational excellence within a fast-paced trading environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes, including Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, Commodities, derivatives, structured notes, and selected exotic products.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of trade capture, allocation, affirmation/confirmation, settlement, and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Manage daily trade, cash, and position reconciliations with counterparties, custodians, and brokers, ensuring prompt resolution of exceptions and breaks.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex operational issues, settlement disputes, and risk-related incidents.
  • Lead a team of middle office professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and career development support.
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology teams to maintain a robust operational control environment.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, automation projects, and new product onboarding activities.
  • Participate in business change initiatives, including UAT, platform migrations, and strategic transformation projects.
  • Support regulatory reporting obligations and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit reviews, regulatory examinations, and remediation initiatives where required.
  • Produce management information, operational metrics, and trend analysis to support decision-making and risk management.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Middle Office, Trade Support, or Operations within an investment bank, securities firm, or financial institution.
  • Strong product knowledge across Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, Commodities, derivatives, structured products, and trade lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to exotic products such as FX TARFs, accumulators, or other structured derivatives would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of reconciliations, settlements, operational controls, and risk management practices.
  • Experience managing teams and handling senior stakeholder engagement at VP level or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and audit/regulatory interactions.
  • Proven experience partnering with Technology teams on system implementation, process re-engineering, and UAT initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and trade support/reconciliation platforms.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
