Summary
The Nutanix & VMware Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, optimization, and support of Nutanix infrastructure within enterprise-class datacenter environments. This role requires deep expertise in Nutanix, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with customers and internal teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant virtualization solutions.
Job Description:
- Manage daily operations of Nutanix solutions, including cluster health checks, performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
- Apply Nutanix best practices and engineering methodologies to design, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise Nutanix environments.
- Develop standards for Virtual Machine (VM) deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
- Establish Nutanix patching schedules and ensure all systems remain compliant and secure.
- Document, maintain, and operationalize all Nutanix configurations, workflows, and procedures.
- Engage with evolving customer environments to provide continuous improvements and solution recommendations.
- Support and maintain VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual networking, and storage integrations.
- Troubleshoot virtualization issues and perform root cause analysis for complex, multi-layered incidents.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-class environments and datacenters.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce consistent, structured, and outcome-oriented solutions.
- Proven experience managing Nutanix and VMware virtualization platforms at scale.
- Nutanix certifications (e.g., NCP, NCM, NCA).
- Advanced industry certifications from VMware, networking vendors, or cloud platforms (e.g., VCP, CCNA/CCNP, Azure/ AWS certifications).
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand business requirements.
