Global Transaction Banking Department
The Global Transaction Banking Department (GTBD) in Singapore plays a regional role in driving transaction banking business with Japanese corporates across the Asia Pacific region.
Working closely with relationship managers, local product teams, and GTBD overseas desks, the team identifies clients financial and operational needs and develops solutions across cash management, trade finance, and foreign exchange related to trade and cash flow.
Beyond traditional transaction banking products, the team is also involved in developing cross-border and structured solutions, including initiatives related to RHQs, supply chains, infrastructure projects, and public-sector supported financing schemes.
Your key roles & responsibilities include:
- Primarily responsible for the transaction banking business in Singapore, with a key focus on developing business with Japanese clients.
- Promote transaction banking business to capture and increase cash, trade, and transactional FX flows in cooperation with branches in APAC, the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
- Support RM offices, in-country GTBD teams, and other departments in marketing and sales, solution provision, coordination, proposal preparation, RFP responses, presentations, documentation, performance monitoring, and related activities.
- Support RM offices, in-country GTBD teams, and other departments in country market and environment research, branch business planning, branch training and education, and product feedback.
- Address target customers transaction banking service requirements by supporting RM offices and departments in developing local services and products.
- Prepare business plans for the departmentto maximize performance.
- Provide periodic and timely reports to management on department operations.
- Perform duties and responsibilities from a compliance standpoint
- Conduct other ad-hoc duties required by the Section Head and the Management
What you should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in transaction banking role.
- At least 5 years of experience in the areas of Trade finance, Cash products, Foreign Exchange and other relevant products.
- Strong interpersonal and business writing skills are attributes that will help the candidate perform successfully in this role.
- Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese will be advantageous as the incumbent is expected to read & understand documents as well as respond &communicate in these two languages to our global offices and Head Office in Japan.
- Strong understanding and affiliation to Japanese financial industry and Japanese Corporations with relevant network will be advantageous.
