Trainee – Finance Projects and Reporting (One Year Contract)

This trainee will join the Hong Kong Financial Control team and assist in Finance department tasks. The ideal candidate should complete their graduation requirements and is available to start the position from August 2026 onwards. Trainee program is one year to begin with and possible for extension up to 2 years in total, subject to performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Familiarize with regulatory reporting requirements for banks in HK, including MIS like our data reporting workflow, audit trail and controls/reconciliations for reporting. Assist in finance production tasks and other Finance projects.
   
   
2. Enhance automation in producing local regulatory reporting

   o Identification of users requirements and specifications

   o Data analysis, data mining of massive data sources and mapping with available tools

   o Perform UAT and parallel run (if needed) to reconfirm accuracy and consistency

   o Clear documentation of process flows and user guides, as well as data dictionary

3. GDR Project extension covering new products (v3.0)

   o Familiarize the current HKMA GDR workflow process using a vendor solution

   o Assist in coordinating with stakeholders to ensure their timely readiness of data files, necessary checking and oversee reconciliations are performed and exception well explained

   o Work together with relevant staff and leverage their experiences to onboard the services extension to new products (e.g. commitments and contingencies, derivatives, etc.)

   o Engage in UAT and confirm data exhaustiveness and correctness

• Bachelor / Master Degree in in Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, IT or Engineering with less than 12 months full-time experiences

• Experience in IT skills (SQL, excel, macros, MS Access, etc.)

• Strong numeric minded

• Good analytical skills and communications skills

• Able to work under tight deadlines

• Motivated and innovative

• Good communication and inter-personal skills, team oriented

• Organized and detail oriented

• Accounting knowledge would be an advantage

• Knowledge of IS, particularly on business data analysis (SQL, excel, macros, MS Access, etc.)

• Good understanding of users requirements and produce output deliverables with good audit trail
