Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical focal point for application delivery, working closely with development teams, vendors, architects, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership, solution architecture, and design governance for customer onboarding applications.
- Review and challenge solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, operational requirements, and project objectives.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams on application architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and technical assessments to ensure solution quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and performance.
- Support functional and non-functional requirements analysis, solution design reviews, and technical impact assessments.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, Infrastructure, Security, Testing, and Application Support teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Oversee system integration activities involving upstream and downstream applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Investigate and troubleshoot complex application, integration, and performance issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Coordinate application release planning, deployment activities, environment readiness, and implementation planning.
- Support system cutover, go-live, and post-implementation stabilisation activities.
- Ensure adherence to application development, security, risk, change management, and technology governance standards.
- Review and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, interface specifications, and support documentation.
- Lead or support production incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical oversight of external vendors and ensure development deliverables meet agreed quality and technical standards.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development and IT solution delivery, preferably within large-scale regional or multinational environments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Development Manager, or Lead Engineer.
- Experience in banking or financial services, preferably within customer onboarding or related banking applications.
- Strong experience in Java enterprise application development and technical solution delivery.
- Deep understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Experience with workflow and business automation platforms such as jBPM, Kogito, or Drools.
- Good understanding of BPMN 2.0 and process modelling using tools such as bpmn.io.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Batch and enterprise batch processing.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, API design, and distributed systems.
- Proven experience conducting code reviews and technical governance for development teams.
- Experience working with external vendors and managing technical delivery outcomes.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex application, integration, and performance issues.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift or similar container technologies.
- Good knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, infrastructure architecture, and application security principles.
- Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Experience with event-driven and microservices-based architectures.
- Experience with Red Hat JBoss EAP and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, or Nexus.
- Experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Exposure to cloud-native and containerised application platforms.
