THE ROLE
As a Technical Product Manager, you will drive the technical execution of complex product development initiatives, bridging market opportunities with engineering execution.
Sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and manufacturing, you will define requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and guide products.
Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you will identify and shape new product opportunities while balancing customer value, engineering constraints, cost, and business objectives. Success in this role requires strong sensitivity to customer and market needs, combined with an innovative and practical approach to problem-solving.
This role reflects how we build at Gizmospring: we prioritize building great products first and scale teams thoughtfully. You will operate with high ownership and have the opportunity to influence both product direction and how the company evolves.
This is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Opportunity Evaluation & Strategic Input
- Conduct competitive analysis and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends
- Provide technical input on new product opportunities and category expansion
- Pitch and present product opportunities, emerging technologies, and product concepts to the CEO
- Provide technical input on new product opportunities and category expansion
- Contribute to roadmap discussions and prioritization
- Stay informed on industry trends and adjacent markets
2. Product Definition & Technical Requirements
- Translate customer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives into product requirements and technical specifications
- Define product architecture and key functionality in collaboration with engineering teams
- Evaluate technical feasibility, cost, risk, and development risks
- Drive technical decisions during concept development and product definition
3. Complex Product Development
- Lead the technical direction and product definition of complex product initiatives
- Partner with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing teams to bring products to market.
- Identify technical risks early and work with engineering teams to resolve issues during product development
- Balance product performance, quality, and cost considerations
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to develope product solutions
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work with Project Managers to ensure smooth transition into manufacturing
REQUIREMENTS
- High sensitivity to customer and market needs, coupled with an innovative and practical approach to problem-solving
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in hardware product development, technical product management, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of electronics and the product development lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing
- Experience translating customer and business needs into technical requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership and ambiguity
