As a Technical Business Analyst - Cloud & AI, you will work at the intersection of business requirements, technology, and solution delivery, helping customers translate business challenges into practical and scalable digital solutions.
This role combines business analysis with technical solutioning. You will work closely with customers, software engineers, solution architects, product teams, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, define technical and functional requirements, evaluate solution approaches, and support the delivery of cloud-based and AI-enabled applications.
You will also participate in discovery sessions, solution workshops, proof-of-concepts, solution demonstrations, and customer engagements. The role is suited to someone with a strong technology background who can understand both business requirements and technical architecture, and who is comfortable working across cloud, application integration, data, and emerging AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational challenges, user needs, and technology requirements.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, requirement workshops, solution discussions, and stakeholder meetings.
- Analyse business processes and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other solution documentation.
- Work closely with software engineers, solution architects, product teams, and project stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Analyse existing applications, systems, APIs, data flows, and integration requirements to identify opportunities for improvement and digital transformation.
- Support solution design activities by evaluating technology options, system integrations, cloud services, data requirements, and application architecture considerations.
- Support the assessment and adoption of cloud-based, AI-enabled, and automation solutions where appropriate to address business requirements.
- Participate in proof-of-concepts, solution prototypes, technical demonstrations, and customer workshops.
- Support pre-sales engagements by contributing to solution discussions, technical proposals, demonstrations, and responses to customer requirements.
- Collaborate with delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure that business and technical requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
- Support Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement clarification, and stakeholder reviews.
- Coordinate with technical and business stakeholders during testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production rollout activities.
- Identify risks, dependencies, gaps, and opportunities within proposed solutions and communicate recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with customers by providing business and technical advisory throughout solution development and project delivery.
- Stay informed of developments in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Generative AI, automation, and modern software engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 6-10+ years of relevant experience in Technical Business Analysis, Business Analysis, Solution Consulting, Solution Architecture, Systems Analysis, Software Engineering, or a similar technology-focused role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), modern application development, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience working closely with software engineering, architecture, product, and/or project delivery teams.
- Strong experience in gathering, analysing, translating, and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Ability to bridge business requirements and technical solutions and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience analysing application architecture, APIs, system integrations, data flows, or cloud-based solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to participate in technical discussion and understand solution architecture and technology trade-offs.
- Experience working on enterprise technology projects, digital transformation initiatives, or complex technology implementations.
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Experience in solution architecture, solution consulting, technical consulting, or software engineering.
- Experience supporting technical pre-sales, customer workshops, solution demonstrations, or proof-of-concepts.
- Exposure to one or more major cloud platformssuch as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with AI, Machine Learning, GenerativeAI, intelligent automation, or AI-enabled business applications.
- Experience with APIs, enterprise application integration, data platforms, microservices, or cloud-native architectures.
- Experience working with enterprise customers, regulated industries, or public sector organisations.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile delivery and documentation platforms.
- Relevant cloud, AI, architecture, business analysis, or technology certifications would be an advantage.
