Job Description
The Taiwan Controller is the senior finance partner to the General Manager – Taiwan and the Taiwan leadership team. The role ensures financial integrity, provides business decision support, strengthens controls, and leads the Taiwan finance analysis team to support profitable growth, operational productivity, asset optimization, investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary finance partner to the Taiwan GM and leadership team, providing financial advice, business insight and decision support on strategy, business planning, pricing, cost management and key commercial decisions.
- Ensure financial integrity and effective controls for Taiwan by applying corporate finance policies, supporting the business decision process, reviewing key transactions and maintaining proper documentation.
- Lead Taiwan BDS and finance analysis support for new project bidding, investment analysis, contract renewals, small onsite and support capital projects, productivity initiatives and asset optimization.
- Drive high-quality reporting, forecasting and performance analysis for Taiwan, including operating plan support, variance analysis, performance metrics and timely input for Asia consolidation.
- Identify business and financial risks, support mitigation plans and provide fact-based analysis for operational decisions, new assets on-stream, supply mode economics and profitability improvement.
- As the Board Director, represent Finance in Taiwan JV governance, Board matters, audit support, tax matters and other local finance requirements as applicable, protecting Air Products shareholder interests while supporting JV performance.
- Act as the bridge between the Taiwan business team, Asia Finance, FBS Shared Services and corporate finance functions including Treasury and Tax to coordinate communication and resolve issues.
- Lead, coach and develop the Taiwan finance analysis team, ensuring strong technical capability, business partnering mindset, disciplined execution and effective talent development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline; MBA or professional finance qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of finance, controllership, business decision support or related experience, preferably in Electronics (Semiconductor even better) or other fast growing industrial & manufacturing environment.
- Strong business acumen, solid cash flow project investment analysis, general FP&A skillset to support a sizable company, accounting, problem-solving and risk management capability.
- Quick adaptability to work and engage in a fast-growing business environment.
- Proven leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated maturity to deal with key stakeholders in complicated JV environment.
