Job Description

Job Summary

Cybersecurity Engineer with 3 years of experience to join the team. In this role, hands-on experience in cybersecurity, supporting security operations, contributing to security architecture, and advising developers and IT personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Security Operations Support:
  • Assist in the day-to-day security operations, Security event analysis and triage
  • Collaborate with the security operations team to support incident monitoring, detection, and response
  • Participate in the integration of security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and maintain secure configurations
  • Experienced in the Microsoft Sentinel and Defender security toolset
  • Generate reports for security operations for review by SOC leadership
  • Security Architecture Contributions:
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of security architectures for our IT infrastructure, applications, and networks
  • Learn and understand industry best practices and emerging security technologies, conversant with NIST 800-53 and CSA-CCM
  • Participate in security assessments, risk analyses, and penetration testing to gain hands-on experience in identifying vulnerabilities and recommending countermeasures
  • Security SME and Advisor in Training:
  • Provide insights into secure coding practices, system hardening, and secure configurations
  • Attend and contribute to training sessions, workshops, and presentations to expand your cybersecurity knowledge
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand their security requirements and provide initial guidance
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight Support:
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Critical Security Controls), regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and contractual obligations
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of compliance artifacts, such as policies and procedures
  • Vendor and Third-Party Management:
  • Participate in vendor risk assessments and third-party relationship management
  • Support the negotiation and oversight of contractual agreements to ensure security requirements are met

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field
  • Familiarity with security concepts and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively within a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Relevant certifications from ISC2, ISACA, SANS, or cloud security providers are a plus.
  • Possession of the following certifications is highly preferred: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200, and CompTIA Network+.
