| Major Duties: |
| The appointee(s) would take up duties in both of the following areas: |
| |
| (a) | Infrastructure Management |
| (i) | To oversee the design, maintenance and optimisation of IT infrastructure across domains, including but not limited to network & Wi-Fi systems, enterprise servers, database platforms, container platforms, virtualisation and cloud services to ensure high performance, scalability and reliability |
| (ii) | To oversee the implementation of infrastructure technologies and its support budget management, resource allocation and vendor procurement for IT projects and |
| (iii) | To foster cross-team and vendor collaboration to maintain system security, compliance and performance, aligning with VTC's strategic goals and initiatives. |
| (b) | System Development |
| (i) | To lead the planning, development, and implementation of IT projects, assisting management to ensure alignment with organisational goals and Council IT policies |
| (ii) | To oversee team efforts in supporting and maintaining IT services and infrastructure, enforcing compliance through programming, testing, and system design and |
| (iii) | To conduct feasibility and requirement studies, collaborating with operational units and vendors to design workflows and enhance IT solutions. |
| |
| Requirements: |
| (a) | A recognised degree in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years relevant work experience |
| (b) | Experience in project management is highly preferred |
| (c) | Good supervisory skills, interpersonal skills and be a good team player and |
| (d) | Proficiency in English and Chinese. |
| |
| Notes: |
| (1) | The post is at the rank of Senior Officer. |
| (2) | Applicants with less relevant experience and / or qualification may be considered for the post of Assistant Systems Manager, at the rank of Officer. |
| (3) | Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
| (4) | Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis. |
| (5) | Appointees may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, for example a campus / centre, to carry out similar duties, and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council's discretion. |
