The Role:
The Automation & Control (A&C) Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of A&C manufacturing systems at the Kaohsiung KSP-S site. Reporting to the System Engineering Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring stable, reliable, and efficient operation of A&C systems on the production floor.
This position focuses on hands-on execution, system support, and first-line troubleshooting. By working closely with the members in A&C team, the A&C Technician helps maintain system uptime, improve system performance, and ensure accurate documentation across manufacturing systems.
In this role you will:
- A&C System Support & Maintenance:
- Perform daily operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing A&C systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI).
- Support system backup, upgrade and minimize downtime through timely issue resolution.
- Assist in preventive maintenance activities and health checks.
- Maintain accurate records of system changes, troubleshooting logs, and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Take first-line diagnosis and resolve the issues on A&C systems.
- Work with engineers to analyze root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Escalate complex issues when required and support follow-up actions.
- Implementation Support:
- Assist engineers in deploying new A&C assets, function upgrades, and modifications.
- Support system testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
- Execute change requests following established procedures.
- Verify data accuracy and report inconsistencies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, and usability.
- Provide feedback from production floor experience to enhance system performance.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies during work execution.
- Ensure operations comply with standardized operation procedure (SOP) and regulatory requirements.
- Less than 10% of travel may be required.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Diploma or Associate/bachelor's degree in Automation & Control, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing automation or equipment maintenance
- Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition experience is a plus)
- Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Modbus)
- Experience in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic skills for understanding technical documents in English
