HME is seeking a dynamic and strategic Supplier Quality Manager, to be based in Taiwan. Reporting to the VP of Product Quality based at our US corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, CA, you will be responsible for addressing and preventing occurrences of non-conforming products from suppliers. Audits evaluates and qualifies new and existing suppliers. Monitor performance of suppliers, reviews system, procedure and controls in place to ensure and improve the overall quality of supplied materials. Facilitates strong partnerships with suppliers while collaborating with internal departments in identifying improvement opportunities within the supply chain to improve quality. Leads failure analysis investigations related to supplied product. Works directly with suppliers to develop corrective action plans to address nonconformities in order to drive improvements in quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management and Supplier Process Improvement:
- Leads in the collection, analysis and presentation of supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
- Works with suppliers directly, as needed, and assists in the creation of corrective action plans to address process failures.
- Reviews supplier manufacturing processes and collaborates with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
- Communicates with QA Management, Engineering, Quality Engineering and Supply Chain internally to identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement impacting supplier quality.
- Coordinates with QA Management, Engineering, Manufacturing and Purchasing to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues and trends.
- Participates in Design Review meetings, as needed, to ensure awareness to design changes impacting supply chain quality.
- Visits suppliers regularly and assists in conducting supplier audits, site qualifications and evaluations.
- Assesses Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and other changes for impact to quality and productivity.
Lead Corrective Action, Qualification And Disqualification
- Participates in QMS, Materials and reliability meetings and presents purchased part or product quality issues and metrics.
- Performs or supports root cause analysis investigations on purchased part or product quality issues.
- Works supplier issues through completion, full containment and validation ensuring corrective action effectiveness.
- Communicates and instructs suppliers on the use of a corrective action process and policy.
- Participates in the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
- Maintains supplier audit results.
- Identifies quality trends by supplier and maintains supplier quality scorecards.
- Recommends suppliers for qualification or disqualification to QA management based upon performance and data.
Auditing And Special Projects
- Supports the ISO 9001 internal audit program and the internal audit team lead or internal auditor for all assigned audits as defined by QMSR and/or the Internal
- Audit Program Administrator.
- Participates in daily and weekly quality improvement meetings
- Supports special projects as required by QA Management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field of Study or related field preferred.
- 10+ years related supplier quality engineering experience.
- Strong verbal, communication, organizational and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office tools: Access, Excel, Word, Visio.
- Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills.
- Basic familiarity in use and application of destructive & nondestructive inspection and test methods and related equipment.
- Experience in interpretation of ANSI GD&T Standards.
- Familiarity with UL and CE regulatory requirements (Preferred).
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards, Certification (Preferred).
- Ability to perform basic and advanced quality trend analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge and application of ANSI Z1.4 and Mil Std 105 sampling methods.
- Lean - Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (Preferred).
- ASQ Certifications: CQM, CQE, CQA (Preferred).
- 10-20% Travel required with the ability to travel to the US.

This may vary depending on experience and other factors. We will partner with FESCO to employ in the region and our benefits package will mirror standard in country offerings.
