Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Staff Test Product Engineer to join our dynamic and growing organization. This role will support new product introduction and continuous care of manufacturing data, yield monitoring and improvement during production for new ASIC products. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Test Product Engineering.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Test optimization for production and TTR phase using 93K or UltraFlex platform
  • Drive production and yield management to meet cost target, delivery, productivities and quality. RF wireless products experience is a plus
  • Working with OSATs Field debug, monitor tool sanity, manpower efficiency, machine capability, test utilization, etc. and recommend as appropriate revisions in testing methods
  • OSAT transfer and qualification
  • FACR/RMA support for failure mode analysis including customer's requirement
  • Statistical data analysis and usage of the tools to work with cross functional teams on failure analysis for yield improvement
  • Drive OSAT testing and performance management to achieve shipment plan and improve cost lost by OSAT
  • Work closely with the NPI team for bringing in OSAT

Competencies

  • Strong understanding of testing methodology, testing program development, yield and debug techniques
  • Good understanding of semiconductor processes and the relationship with testing and failure mechanism
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions, explore new ideas, and learn new technologies
  • Resourceful and able to solve problems through adapting technology and a solid understanding of product architecture
  • Analytical and able to make informed decisions based on experience and data
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong team player with the ability to work within a diverse cross-functional team and willingness to share knowledge

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • 8+ years of industry experience in product and test engineering
  • Proven track record of releasing new product to high volume production and successful in sustaining the product
  • Proven track record of lowering product manufacturing costs and yield improvement
  • Hands-on experience using data analysis tools for yield tracking and yield improvement analysis (Exensio platform a plus)
  • Must be familiar with V93K, UltraFlex is a plus
  • Able to travel to OSAT for trouble shooting
