Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in product development.
- Experience in software development using a general purpose programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript).
- Experience architecting and developing distributed systems design.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience leading teams of software engineers.
- Experience defining technical charters and engineering processes for geographically distributed teams.

Google Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery (GCBDR) is a centralized, secure, and fully-managed service designed to protect mission-critical workloads across the Google Cloud ecosystem. The service safeguards enterprise data against ransomware, accidental deletion, and outages by delivering automated protection for first-party (1P) Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources including Google Compute Engine (GCE), Persistent Disks (PD), Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, and Filestore. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software components for the Cloud Backup and DR platform.
- Deliver high-quality, end-to-end features and project components mostly independently, managing your own task priorities and timelines.
- Participate in system design discussions, write clear technical documentation, and collaborate with executive engineers to refine component architectures.
- Identify and resolve technical debts, helping to improve system scalability, reliability monitoring, and testing coverage.
- Work collaboratively with adjacent engineers and cross-functional partners to resolve dependencies and align on integration goals.
