Staff Engineer

Role Summary

Outcomes is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer with deep expertise in C/C++, Java, Spring Framework, PostgreSQL, c-treeDB (FairCom), and Oracle to lead the development, support, optimization, and modernization of critical legacy platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, architecture, and technical leadership to drive scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications built on C/C++ and Java.
• Drive modernization and performance optimization of legacy systems.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership across engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system reliability and scalability.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and best practices.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in C and C++
• Strong experience in Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot
• Experience with legacy application development and modernization
• Expertise in PostgreSQL, c-treeDB (FairCom), and Oracle Database
• Strong SQL, query optimization, performance tuning, and database design experience
• Experience with REST APIs, System Design, Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Multithreading, and Concurrent Programming
• Strong Linux/Unix experience and Shell Scripting
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience working with large-scale enterprise and legacy systems.
