Introduction to the job
The Reuse & Repair Project Lead is responsible for the overall relationship between ASML and a set of its key suppliers. Current suppliers will be managed for QLTCS (Quality, Logistics, Technology, Cost and Sustainability) performance, while potential new suppliers will be discovered for future business as needed. This position requires a combination of skills in strategic thinking, leadership, initiative, professional communication, financial/business analysis, and is greatly aided by a background in engineering or technology.
In this position you will manage assigned repair transfer project and an overall commodity(category) to ensure ASML is supported by world-class suppliers delivering on time, at spec, good quality and at the competitive total cost. You will be expected to actively pursue continuous improvement with current suppliers and potential suppliers in Asia and continually explore opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs and any other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage.
Besides, the alignment with (cross-sector) stakeholders, incl. Sourcing, Reuse team in VHV and Local Repair Center, is required to ensure local repair strategy is embedded in supplier landscaping. Via the collaboration with peers working on local repair business in Korea, you are expected to act as SPOC for Repair Engineering transfer team, also as a project lead ensuring local repair requirement would be fulfilled by performing suppliers under agreed local repair strategy and contribute to ASML ESG goal in the end (for example, reduce carbon emission via change to domestic transportation/local repair).
Role and responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of cross-discipline team members to achieve ASML local repair product transfer strategies.
- Jointly defines and executes category sourcing strategy with Category PFT (Product Family Team) and strategic supplier account plans at suppliers.
- Proactively monitors developments and trends within the local repair supply base in Taiwan, Korea, Asia and ensures ASML is prepared to react appropriately for short to long terms.
- Apply ASML's project management standards to lead coordination of Initiation, Plan, Execution, and Closure phases to achieve ASML local repair product transfer strategies.
- To deliver the sourcing and supply chain requirements with sourcing managers (SL) and Repair Engineering team, to meet the agreed quality (Q), material availability and move rate (L), technology performance (T), cost (C), and sustainability (S) requirements.
- To industrialize ASML Circular Supply Chain, by local repair ASML service product industrialization directly with suppliers in Asia, or by transferring repair method from OEM suppliers in Europe & US regions to 3rd party suppliers in Asia region.
- Develop and manage the project plan of above supply chain industrialization, including breaking a complex project into sequential and parallel tasks, ownership assignment, timeline, resource requirement, risk identification and mitigation, supplier selection, and track supplier performance with other Sourcing and Procurement departments.
- Play a pivotal role to consolidate and secure the deliverables from other sectors in order to execute the repair supply chain transfer. Sectors include Development & Engineering (D&E), Quality & Logistics (Q&L), Reuse & Repair (R&R) and Supplier Account Team(SAT). Deliverables include part technical specification and drawings, sourcing statement of work, parts quality reports, product costing analysis per design, supplier logistics deliverables.
- Establish project governance structure and align with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide transparent, structured reporting and escalate issues/ barriers to senior management to address risk and remove bottlenecks.
- Manage and communicate the closure report including lesson learned/ Best practices.
- Drive functional effective collaboration and continuous process improvement.
- Subject matter expert in ASML's project management standards and process.
Education
- Master's degree with well-established knowledge in both technical disciplines and business management.
- An MBA from US or European institution is preferred, particularly with a focus in engineering, operations, sourcing, supply chain, or sales key account management background.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, preferably in major international company, especially in semiconductor equipment, aerospace, medical or other business-to-business technical industries.
- Over 5 years of project management experience leading complex, large-scale projects, preferably by low volume and experience in supply chain management in business-to-business technical environments.
- Proven track record of project or business leadership, i.e driving and leading complex cross-department projects from project initiation, planning, execution to results, engaging stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience of working in matrix organizations, both locally and globally, is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
